The 7D International’s chairman – Wael El Mougy participated together with vice Mayer of Riyadh in ICLEI World Congress 2015. The meeting was held in Seoul, South Korea from April 8 to April 12. There was plenty of representatives from contries all over the world, which discussed sustainable urban development and the role of cities in addressing climate change. The main theme of the conference in 2015 was „Sustainable Solutions for an Urban Future, focusing on municipalities’ role in solving global issues”.

Giving explanation what exactly is ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability we need to say that is a network conected more that thousand cities and the goal of their activity is build a sustainable future by helping cities to be sustainable, low-carbon, resilient, biodiverse, resource-efficient, healthy including a green economy and smart infrastructure.

The main point of this year was the Seoul Declaration -  a united document outlining a path to urban sustainability, which is linked to ICLEI’s Strategic Plan 2015-2021, that will be delivered to the UNFCCC conference in Paris in December. The goal of the Seul Declaration is to “pursue cities that are low-carbon, resilient, productive and resource-efficient, biodiverse, ecomobile, economically sustainable, smart, happy, healthy, and inclusive.” It was officially adopted and signed by 96 mayors  during the congress.
